One may have a strong bearish or bullish view on the bitcoin price, but none can deny the fact that cryptocurrency has shaken up the financial market, and its underpinning technology, block chain, has the potential to make even greater impact. During 2017 bitcoin price appreciated 1400%, and two major exchanges launched bitcoin futures. Today there are over 800 crypto assets, including ether, ripple, littecoin, monero and more. How to navigate in the new blockchain world? CTIA is honored to invite Jason Leung, the Head of Cumberland - a DRW Company, to share his view on the evolution of the crypto assets.

This event will also feature a distinguished speaker, Andrew Raby, partner at Drinker Biddle, a leading legal expert in Cryptocurrencies. Andrew Raby will speak on the recent securities law developments in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology developments in the investment management industry.  In addition, Andrew will explain the current cryptocurrencies regulations under the CFTC and SEC jurisdictions.

Jason Leung is the Head of Cumberland - a DRW Company, one of the world's largest liquidity providers in cryptocurrencies. Jason has over twenty years of experience in traditional financial markets, with the majority of his career focused on foreign exchange options.

Jason joined DRW in 2013, where he successfully built and managed the global FX options team before joining Cumberland, uniquely positioned between the traditional financial markets and nascent cryptocurrencies space. Jason’s deep OTC experience in trading currencies around the clock globally has been instrumental in expanding Cumberland’s liquidity solution offerings. Cumberland has teams in Chicago, London and Singapore and provides two-sided, institutional-sized liquidity 24 hours a day to counterparties in over 35 countries.

Jason started his career on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and has worked for major financial institutions in Chicago, Stanford, London and Singapore over the course of his FX career.

Jason earned a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
